We stepped in to provide comms help when community platform Neighbourly was overwhelmed with work during COVID-19. This evolved into longer support, helping them grow their voice and reach, with a firm focus on the local.
Neighbourly
Reaching out to promote hyper-local giving
challenge
Neighbourly is a community investment and engagement platform that helps businesses give money, surplus products and time (by volunteering) to those in need locally. When COVID hit, it was a race against time to scale up and promote their work so that the most vulnerable communities could get the support they needed.
solution
We provided emergency PR services around the launch of a £1million community fund, raising awareness nationally of the increased support available. We also helped to grow partner involvement with businesses including Marks & Spencer, Aldi, Lidl and Danone. Our work generated an immediate media profile, rapidly growing Neighbourly’s reach when it mattered most.
Our ongoing work focused on building Neighbourly’s networks and connections, amplifying its voice to increase the impact of hyper-local charities and build community resilience. Core to success was using Neighbourly’s unique access to what is needed at a hyper-local level through direct relationships with the local causes working at street level.
